Implementation guidelines for classroom use

Over many classroom pilots, we've noticed a few things that work best for teachers using our program and wanted to share these with you.

  • The program may be used during center time where students rotate from one activity center to another. Typically, we've seen setups where one activity center is running Kiko's Thinking Time on multiple iPads or laptops. If the classroom has high levels of noise, it is best to use headphones with the devices.
  • The prescribed dosage for the program is 10-15 minutes, 2-3X a week. What most teachers find ideal is to start the student with the Daily Quest activity. This rotates the student through 5 pre-selected games and ends with a nice reward to end the activity. Most students take 8-10 minutes to complete the Daily Quest. After this, the student may choose to play independently for another 5 minutes or sign out.
  • For the first few sessions, it's best for a teacher to be available in case the student has questions. While most students can use the app independently, it can take a session or two to familiarize themselves with what each game is asking them to do.
