Having problems hearing sound in Kiko Labs, but it works for other applications?
It’s a little strange, but on iOS, applications can decide whether they want to obey the mute switch. By Apple guidelines, applications whose primary purpose requires audio are free to ignore it (i.e., movie players).
Most of the time, audio problems are caused by mute being enabled -- possibly accidentally (through the hardware switch on the side or through software in the control center, depending on the iPad version) or through equipment glitch -- lint / whatnot can sometimes get in the headphone port and cause the iPad to think that the mute button is enabled there.
First thing to check: when the iPad is on, slide up from the bottom of the screen to get the control center. Make sure the mute (the bell with the slash) is _not_ on, and make sure the volume is set to something other than 0. (Note that some iPads actually have a physical mute switch, located on the upper left side of the device, and if you have one, you should make that the switch is not off.)
Second thing to try: sound settings can sometimes be reset by restarting the iPad. To restart the iPad, the easiest way is to just hold down the power button until the slider appears and turn the iPad off. Once it’s off, turn the iPad on again.
Third thing to try: if you have a pair of headphones handy, it would be helpful to see if Kiko’s sound works with them as a way to diagnose the problem.
If all those fail, send us a support request. It would be helpful to know the model number, which can be found by going to Settings / General / About and looking at the row that says “Model.”
